Ultra-High Machine

Although the company owns and operates over 40 pieces of conventional demolition equipment, D.M.D. Services is the first company in the area to use an ultra-high reach demolition machine, the Caterpillar 330B L Ultra-high, equipped with a Cat MP20 Multi-Processor. Key components of the machine include:
  • 3-piece front, which reaches 68 feet, 7 inches
  • Handles tools weighing as much as 6,615 pounds
  • Operating weight range of up to nearly 50 tons (when equipped with optional, hydraulically adjustable undercarriage)
  • Short, retrofit boom configures the clean-up, hammer use and digging
  • Choice of two, purpose-built demolition sticks that expand the versatility of the machine
  • 222 useful horsepower

This ultra-high arm is one of the reasons D.M.D Services’ demolition projects are accomplished more safely, quickly, and quietly.  As far as safety goes, the main benefits derive from the fact that a) workers no longer have to enter the building with torches – they can use attachments to cut and b) workers can sit up to 30 feet from the building, whereas crane operation requires close placement near the facility.

The process is also faster because material can be processed and segregated simultaneously.  In addition, the machine can be moved around the building much more quickly than a crane can be repositioned.

Finally, the ultra-high is more comfortable for operators, thus reducing fatigue so that operators remain alert and efficient.  Its smooth operation is easy on the body and the cab tilts, negating the need to look up through the roof to see where you are working.

Although flexible and versatile, this machine is not the only one at work.  D.M.D. Services also employs several other pieces of specialty equipment, including:

- 332B hydraulic excavator
- Caterpillar 973B track loader
- Caterpillar 246 skid steer loaders

The combined use of all the machinery options makes for a more efficient and cost effective way to conduct business.  The value that D.M.D. Services’ machinery adds to its work and the skill level of the operators employed are evident at any of D.M.D. Services’ job sites.
